University of Twente, Faculty of Engineering Technology, Chair Packaging Design and Management likes to invite you to the:
29th IAPRI Symposium on Packaging 2019 Serving society, innovative perspectives on packaging
from 11th to 14th of June 2019 at the campus of University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands.
Society increasingly demands to take responsibility for choices that are made in respect to sustainability. Innovative packaging solutions add to sustainability but this is unknown and not remarked by society. A perspective is therefore needed. University of Twente is a.o. doing research after design methods; how decisions are taken about packaging concepts and materials, how information influences choices that are made, how to cooperate with the many stakeholders involved in decision processes, how the influence of appearance can be used during design stages, and how sustainability has to be taken up in design trajectories.
All the research that will be presented at the symposium can be positioned in these perspectives. We will try to make a start in this during the symposium at the University of Twente to give insight in the innovative perspectives that we have to communicate to society. We hope that you as a member of the IAPRI, will cooperate in this and will have the opportunity to share your research and to learn about exciting developments from experts from all over the world. We hope to see how research and innovations performed by IAPRI members contributes to solutions that serve society.
Papers can be submitted through the peer-reviewed and general streams. Papers submitted through the peer review stream will be published in Packaging Technology and Science, respecting the journal’s editorial policy and papers submitted through the general steam will be published in the conference proceedings, as usual.
The venue for the 29th IAPRI Symposium will be the Horst Complex building of University of Twente at the campus in Enschede. The campus can be reached by plain (Amsterdam Schiphol Airport) and train (2 hours traveling from Amsterdam Schiphol airport).
We will visit the Grolsch Brewery and will have dinner at a real estate in a typical Dutch environment. A visit to the Virtual Reality lab and the 3D-prinitng lab is taken up in the program.
